Mary Ida Adams has been practicing Jingui Golden Shield since 1999. She has over 35 years experience in eastern health art and in teaching meditation, fitness, and Qi Gong. Mary Ida Adams teaches the following Programs at the Conscious Living Center in Iowa City: Please see Calendar page for the class schedule. The Ideal Metabolism-Ideal Weight Fitness Program is designed for those who want to balance their metabolism and achieve their ideal weight. It also aims to: reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure, balance hormones, and improve cardiovascular health. This program, designed by Qi Gong Master Dr. Donxun Zhang, uses meditations, forms and exercises to empower you to take back control over your mind and body. The main difference between this program and other weight loss programs is that we teach you how to use your mind (the strongest tool available) to implement permanent change. This 6-week program is held in two-75 minute weekly classes. Jingui Golden Shield, a traditional style of Qi Gong, is an internal energy system that teaches how to convert the enormous potential energy we have to Qi. Through specific incremental vibration techniques, the physical practice allows the organs to purify and strengthen. Golden Shield’s goal is to reach a high level of health, remove stagnations in the body and to mature the meridian system, our internal energy highways. As the practice develops each of the five physical levels, we gain in the ability to maintain overall higher levels of energy, to use our energy more effectively, and to integrate the mind, body and spirit. The overall effect of this practice balances and enhances the nervous system, the body’s chemistry, the internal communication system, our emotional well being as well as the physical body. By accessing our potential energy, we can extend our self development to its furthest potential. |

Tracy is a professional organizer, coach and owner at Synergy Organizing as well as a B.E.S.T. (bio energetic synchronization technique) practitioner certified through the Morter Health System. By working with and researching extreme cases of chronic disorganization in addition to working through her own personal health challenges, Tracy came to realize that many of the therapies being prescribed in today’s society don’t address the root cause of our miseries – the subconscious patterns that replay themselves over and over in our everyday lives whether we want them to or not. During her own quest for healing, Tracy discovered B.E.S.T. and was amazed at how old mental patterns easily passed away and physical healing soon followed. After observing her own as well as her husband’s and others’ healing, she was moved to become certified in this technique bring it to her organizing clients as well as the public. Tracy believes that Innate Intelligence, through the functioning of the nervous system is the true agent of healing, empowerment, coordination, inspiration, movement and joy. Healing is an inside job, coordinated by the same power, which develops and renews our body. Tracy chooses to help each individual client to a greater level of wellness, elasticity, personal growth, empowerment and healing by locating and removing interference through B.E.S.T. technique. |

Joshua Weber, BA, RYT, RMThe Conscious Living Center
In 1999, after obtaining a degree in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Iowa , Joshua travelled abroad to study in Guatemala and discovered a passion for helping individuals who were in a state of poverty and circumstantial challenge. Following this experience in 2002, Joshua visited Haiti, once again witnessing a great magnitude of poverty and suffering. It was in Haiti that Joshua recognized the universal nature of the human condition. These experiences led Joshua to the calling of service and Karma yoga. Since 2002, Joshua embarked upon his journey working in the social service field providing services to adults and teenagers with chronic mental health and behavioral disorders in Iowa City, Iowa. It was in August 2007, when Joshua and his wife envisioned a service organization that embraced the qualities and philosophy of holistic wellness. It was at this time, Joshua founded Builders of Hope with his wife, and began a chapter in his life that would lead him to this present moment in time. Today, Joshua is a husband, father of three beautiful daughters, a cultural anthropologist, mindfulness meditation practitioner, yoga practitioner/instructor, Reiki III practitioner, counselor, and healer. This awakening blesses us with an internal compass to navigate this great map we call life, and reveal to us the road to internal happiness. My desire is to help each individual I encounter awaken to this gift and blessing.” |
